For each pound of beeswax provided by a honey bee, the bee visits 33 million flowers and eats 10 pounds of honey. Beeswax has a sweet, subtle, honey like fragrance. The high melting point of beeswax results in a burning time that is two to three times longer than paraffin. Pure beeswax has the highest melting point of any known wax. Its slow, smokeless flame gives off more light and heat than other waxes and there's no dripping. Pure beeswax candles will develop a film called
bloom. This is normal and can easily be removed by buffing with a soft cloth or with the gentle use of a blow dryer.
