I am not sure if I should laugh or cry!!!

PayPal, great site, Canada Post, never had a problem shipping with them, great service.  Combine the two and add in an inexperienced small business person like me who has entered the online market, and the result seems complete with several "bang head here" spots.
The problem is, PayPal Canada shipping costs are based on dollar values. Canada Post uses dimensions and weight and travel distance.
So, a little box containing two votives, with the weight of 1/3 pound, with the dimensions of 4"x3"x3" cost $13.00 to ship.  Why the high cost?  The problem comes with the variable of the honey and candles.  Neither products are light weight nor can they be shipped in a padded envelope.

I have looked at Greyhound shipping, and looked at Purolator.  Neither is cost effective.  My other option is to send postage collect.  I might have to look into that.

So, why write about this on the  blog?  To let my customers know that the shipping has changed yet again.  Smaller items are not economical to ship alone, for either of us.  So, if you can, buy in bigger lots to get the best shipping value.  For example, buy 5 votives instead of 2.
The pillars candles do not seem to fall into this problem. Their weight, price, and size seem to work for the cost to ship. It is those little guys which seem to provide the interesting situations.

I apologize for this inconvenience
